Washington: It seems like Google is impressed from Apple iPhone 5C and Motorola Moto X, as company is eyeing to introduce its flagship device Google Nexus 5 in six new colours.
According to a new report, Google is set to launch its flagship Nexus 5 in six new bright colours, red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple, which would be available alongside the current white and black models for a total of eight color options.
As smartphones continue to grow in popularity, many consumers like to have a device that reflects their personality through the use of color. Apple highlighted this when the company introduced several brightly colored iPhones for the first time with the launch of the iPhone 5c in September.
Nokia is also another company who likes to give its customers choices beyond black or white with many of its Lumia smartphones. A new report now claims that Google will add several bright color choices to its Nexus 5 smartphone line as well.
PhoneArena claims to have received a tip in the form of a video that shows someone clicking on all of the possible color choices, which include red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, black, and white.
The Nexus 5 features a 4.95-inch 1920 x 1080 Full HD Corning Gorilla Glass 3 display with a pixel density of 445 pixels-per-inch (ppi) and runs Android 4.4 KitKat. The handset is packing a very fast 2.26GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit (GPU) and 2GB of RAM to ensure a fast and fluid user experience.
When it comes to its on-board cameras, you’ll find an 8-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and improved HDR+ mode, as well as a 1.3-megapixel front-facing shooter for video chat and selfies.
The smartphone is available in two storage configurations – 16GB and 32GB. Its wireless connectivity options consist of a 4G LTE radio, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/nc, Bluetooth 4.0 with Bluetooth 4.0 LE abilities, NFC, and GPS. The Nexus 5 also supports wireless charging out of the box, although you’ll have to supply a compatible charger. Google ships the smartphone with a 2,300 mAh non-removable battery that will provide up to 17 hours of talk time and 300 hours of standby time.
There’s no word on when we can expect to see Google make this official, but judging from the video it shouldn’t be long.
