LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) judge, Justice Abid Aziz, has excused presiding the hearings of Sharif family cases filed over taxes return.
Surprising moment was seen when Justice Abid Aziz has formally excused hearing the cases of Sharif family related taxes return and alleged non-payment of taxes.
Justice Abid Aziz clarified his stance, said that he followed various cases filed against Sharif family in past, hence it is suitable that someone else hear the cases now.
It should be mentioned that various cases are under hearing against the Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz, Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif as well as some other family members and Justice Abid Aziz was amongst the members of the bench formed for the cases.
Earlier on October 9, an accountability court of Rawalpindi adjourned the corruption references against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his other family members citing a stay order of the Lahore High Court as the reason.
But afterwards, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Chaudhry Qamar Zaman decided and filed applications to reopen and pursue major corruption cases against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family members charged in Hudabia paper mills, Ittefaq Foundries and Raiwind assets corruption references.
