ISLAMABAD: Highest deduction in expenses has been recorded in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province as Finance Minister KPK Siraj-ul-Haq has announced 50 per cent deduction in the official expenditure.
The FM announced the expenditure deduction for Governor Secretariat as well as Chief Minister House and Secretariat on Tuesday during the post-budget conference.
Siraj-ul-Haq said that austerity and simplicity will be adopted to utilize the resources for the welfare of the people.
On the other hand, Punjab Finance Minister Mian Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman said on Tuesday that expenses of Chief Minister’s Secretariat have been reduced by 30 per cent in order to adopt austerity.
Punjab government allocated Rs290 billion allocated for the development budget of next fiscal year while at least Rs20 billion is allocated for energy sector.
Meanwhile, Sindh government has not made any announcement for deduction in official expenditures but Adviser to the Sindh Chief Minister of Finance, Syed Murad Ali Shah said that Rs8 billion has been allocated for the energy projects and Rs12 billion for Thar Coal project.
Moreover, Sindh government put restriction on non- development expenditures and purchasing of new vehicles until the financial position improves.
Budget details of official expenditure have not been announced by Balochistan government till yet.
