PESHAWAR: The Election Tribunal on Tuesday rejected the nomination papers of former military ruler Gen. (retd) Pervez Musharraf.
The former dictator, who returned to Pakistan in March after ending self-imposed exile to take part in the polls, has been rejected from all the four constituencies for which he filed his nomination papers.
Today, the Election Tribunal of the Peshawar High Court (PHC) declared Returning Officer verdict, allowing him to contest election for NA-32 (Chitral), null and void and rejected his nomination papers.
Earlier, the Election Tribunals in Islamabad and Kasur maintained the decision of returning officers and rejected his nomination papers.
Musharraf, who launched his own party, All Pakistan Muslim League (APML), in 2010, is currently facing series of cases including former prime minister Benazir Bhutto and Baloch leader Nawab Akbar Bugti murder cases and judges sacking and house arrest cases.
On Monday, his nomination papers were rejected for NA-250 (Karachi).
