The green shirts will enter the ground as favourite’s for the today’s match because they had not loss any of their matches on Eden Gardens stadium against India.
Out of three contests against their arch rival from 1987, Pakistan remained unbeatable and won all of their matches. The visitors won their first match at the ground in February 18, 1987 after they defeated the hosts by 2 runs after an exciting match.
In 1992, the two teams once again played against each other and this time the hosts were even defeated by a big margin of 72 runs. The first two matches were played under the captaincy of Cricketer turned politician Imran Khan.
Later in 2004, the two teams once again played next to each other and the result was once again the same with Pakistan chasing a huge target of 293 runs. Inzamam-ul-Haq captained the team in the match and Salman Butt played an extra ordinary innings of 108 runs.
Meanwhile, it is the best chance for Pakistani coach Dav Whatmore to help Pakistani team in winning the second one day International as he was aware of the weak and strong points of once his home ground when he trained Kolkata Knight Riders during Indian Premier League (IPL).
The Pakistani coach is well aware of the nature of the pitch and the mood of the curator so he could easily train the team in accordance with the nature of the atmosphere and pitch.
