Islamabad: Irfan Qadir, the attorney general of Pakistan, has said that the prime minister is not accountable to the court for his official actions.
The AG while talking to Pakistan private news television Geo News said that according to the constitution the PM could not be summoned by the court. He added that he was not aware if Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf would appear before the Supreme Court on August 27.
The Attorney General also did not comment on what steps the Supreme Court would take if the Prime Minister failed to appear before them.
The PMÂ was issued a contempt of court notice by the Supreme Court for failing to implement its order in the NRO case by not writing the letter to Swiss authorities and he has been summoned to appear before the apex court on August 27.
