Karachi: As many as 983 graduates of the Institute of Business Management (IoBM) qualified for degrees in Business Management and allied disciplines at IoBM Convocation 2011 held at its campus in Korangi Creek.
Statement issued by the IOBM said that the Convocation was well-attended by luminaries in education, business, media, corporate sector, social work, intellectuals, elite and national and international organizations.
Graduates of IoBM Convocation 2011 included BBA (Honors) 4 year = 317, BS (Joint Honors) 4 year = 101, BCS 3 year = 1, BS (MIT) 4 year = 1, MBA (Regular) 1 year = 215, MBA (Regular) 2 year = 39, MBA (Regular) 3 year = 45, MBA (Executive) 2 year = 111, MBA (Executive) 3 year = 15, MBA (Health Management) 2 year = 33, MBA (Advertising and Communication Management) 1 year = 3, MBA (Advertising and Communication Management) 2 year = 11, MBA (Industrial Management) 1 year = 2, MBA (Industrial Management) 2 year = 30, MBA (Industrial Management) 3 year = 1, MBA (Media Management) 2 year = 9, MBA (Telecommunication Management) 2 year = 12, MBA (Finance and Risk Management) 1 year = 26, MBA (Finance and Risk Management) 2 year = 1, MBA (Educational Management) 2 year = 7, M. Phil 2 year = 3. There were 11 Gold Medals and 27 Certificates of Merit, the statement added.
Dr. Shams Kassim Lakha, the Guest of Honor, emphasized the need for ethical behavior in business through endeavoring for the ability to distinguish between right and wrong. He upheld the need for social responsibility through good governance towards our beloved country.
Javed Jabbar, keynote speaker, advised the graduating students that while rights remain important, what is vital for a civilized society is the responsibility factor. As such, rights and responsibilities go side by side.
Shahjehan Karim, President IoBM said that in 2010, at Eduniversal’s annual Convention in Prague at its international ranking of 1000 business schools, IoBM was ranked as one of the top two schools in Pakistan.
In 2011 at Eduniversal’s Convention in Shanghai, IoBM have not only retained its ranking, but have been designated as a Good Business School with Regional Influence. Additionally, this year, Eduniversal has adjudged two of IoBM’s Masters Programs as best in the world and its six Masters Programs as one of the best in Asia.
