Homs: Syrian troops attacked shrine of Hazrat Khalid bin Walid (R.A), a companion of prophet Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him) and victorious of more than hundred battles for Medina State, an Arab television reported.
According to reports, the Syrian troops and tanks attacked the shrine in Homs, a strong hold of Syrian uprising, damaging its walls and destroying adjacent Khalid bin Walid mosque.
The reports said the Syrian troops are destroying holy places and tombs of great Islamic personalities on the pretext of targeting rebels.
The Arab TV said Bashar al-Assad was hell bent on sparking sectarian violence in Sunni majority Syria.
