Islamabad: Parliamentary Committee on National Security has sought details from the government regarding agreements with the Unites States.
The committee met here on Thursday under the chairmanship of Senator Raza Rabbani to discuss memogate and Nato attack on Pakistan’s out-posts in Mohmand Agency that killed 24 soldiers.
Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani had asked the panel at its previous session on December 2 to finalise recommendations on new terms of engagement with the US, the decision that had been taken by the government in reaction to Nato attacks.
After finalisation, the committee would send the recommendations to the prime minister, upon which joint session of the parliament would be convened.
The committee had agreed on the joint session of the parliament, but sources said that the matter would again be discussed in the meeting after ailment of President Asif Ali Zardari, who is currently in Dubai to undergo medical treatment and was planned to address the joint sitting of the two houses.
