Rawalpindi: A local court on Saturday rejected bail plea of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz lawmaker Anjum Aqeel in the National Police Foundation (NPF) land scam case.
He was arrested from the court after the court rejected his bail. Senior PML-N lawmaker Zafar Ali Shah represented him in the court of Special Judge Central Rawalpindi division. Shah said that the NPF still had to pay Rs2100 million to his client.
Aqeel was on interim bail for a long time. His bail was extended for 14 times by the court. Aqeel appeared on Saturday to get confirm his bail but the judge rejected the same.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested Aqeel outside the court room.
Talking to media after the hearing, Shah said that he respected the court orders and would soon appeared before the court to get Aqeel’s plea approved.
