Karachi: A two-member delegation of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) participated the 6th Istanbul Forum which held 1-2 November 2011, under the theme of “Women Entrepreneurship” during the Trilateral Summit of Afghanistan, Pakistan and Turkey.
An FPCCI statement issued here on Saturday said that Vice-President FPCCI Muhammad Akbar Khan, and Secretary General Syed Masood Alam Rizvi represented the federation.
Khan expressed sympathy and solidarity with Turkish Government and people on devastation caused by earthquake in the province of VAN.
On the occasion of 6th Istanbul Forum he said that the people of Pakistan stand with their Turkish brothers in their difficult moment due to natural calamity.
Khan, in his speech informed about status of Women entrepreneurs in Pakistan and told that women have demonstrated their capabilities in all the domains of human activities.
He told that Benazir Bhutto is the best example who has contributed to empower the women with her great vision. He further added that without the involvement of women entrepreneurs in the economic activities, our country cannot achieve the target of economic stability and self-reliance because of the fact that the population of women is 52% of the total population of Pakistan.
There are seven women chambers in Pakistan that work under the aegis of FPCCI, and more women chambers are in pipeline. These Chambers are continuously working to encourage and providing facilitation to women entrepreneurs.
