Peshawar: Education Minister of Khyber Pakhtoonkhawa, Pakistan’s northern province, Sardar Hussain Babak along with his three inmates injured in an ambush on late Sunday night.
According to police, the incident took place near Changalai area of Swabi District when unidentified armed assailants opened fire at his vehicle was moving toward Peshawar from Bonair. After the attack driver of the vehicle lost control over steering and the vehicle plunged into a ravine.
The injured were rushed to District Headquarter Swabi Hospital for treatment. The hospital administration said that the provincial minister received a bullet in one of his hands but he was out of danger.
Babak’s brother Shamim Shahid also informed media that his brother was out of danger.
Meanwhile, DPO Swabi Aijaz Khan has said that the minister and his associates not received bullet injuries.
Police and security forces have cordoned off the area to trace the culprits. But no one has been arrested so far.
