Kabul: At least six NATO troopers including two French soldiers have been killed and four soldiers wounded in various parts of Afghanistan as US-led western alliance witnessed its deadliest days in the war-ravaged country, media reported.
Meanwhile, NATO said on Sunday that four of its members were killed in two separate militant attacks in south and east Afghanistan. The nationality of the soldiers or the exact locations of the incidents were not released.
Thirty-one US Special Forces, most of them from the elite Navy SEAL were killed after their helicopter crashed in the east.
The Taliban say they shot down the chopper with a rocket-propelled grenade. NATO is investigating the incident.
The latest casualties bring to at least 383 the number of US-led troops killed in Afghanistan this year alone.
According to official figures, more than 2,664 US-led soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan since the US-led invasion of the country in 2001.
