Two die as trains collided in India

New Dehli: Two passenger trains collided in India, leaving two people dead and at least 30 others wounded on late Sunday, India media reported. 

The incident took place in West Bengal when the engine of the Guwahati-Bangalore express derailed near the Malda station and was hit by the Azimganj Express, coming from opposite direction.

Four coaches of the Azimganj Express also derailed and its engine caught fire after the accident.

Rescue operation was in progress and passengers trapped inside the affected trains were trying to pull out.

More casualties are feared.
