Karachi: All has been set to launch a high level operation in the tense areas of Pakistan’s sea port city of Karachi following the worst law and order situation in the metropolis, IG Sindh Wajid Durrani said.
The decision was decided in a high-level meeting of police rangers and government officials on late Sunday night.
IG Sindh said that the operation would be launched in the affected areas of Karachi.
He said that all the resources would be used to restore peace in the city.
IG Sindh alleged that land and drug mafias were behind the worst law and order situation of Karachi. He said police would take action wherever needed.
Earlier, Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said no operation would be launched in Karachi, and the ongoing situation would be handled through police and rangers.
At the one hand tall statements have been continuously issued from government and security high-up, but at the other hand target killing incidents were seemed reeling in Karachi.
