Karachi: Former Chief Justice of Pakistan Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddiqui has said that people should not lay expectations from the current government as the rulers were following the footsteps of former military ruler Gen. (Retd) Pervez Musharraf.
Speaking at a seminar arranged for missing persons on Thursday, he said that not only the report of Justice Mansoor Kamal might be publicized regarding missing persons but it should also be implemented.
“The president of the country confessed the fact in his book that he handed over Pakistani citizens to CIA for the bounty of four billion dollars. Now the present democratic government is doing the same thing. The British rule before independence was far better than the sitting government.
He said that it is the unprecedented brutality from the state level that Supreme Court acquitted some accused of terrorism on non-availability of any evidence against them but after their release from jail, they were lifted by some security agencies.
Other speakers including said that government has failed to provide protection to the people .The rulers and their allies are making efforts just to save their regime , while keeping the real problems aside.
