US deliberately delayed sharing information on terrorists: GOC

Peshawar: General Officer Commanding (GOC) South Waziristan Major Gen Rizwan Akhtar on Thursday said that the US delayed sharing information about explosives factories in Pakistani tribal areas deliberately to embarrass Pakistan Army.

Talking to media in the conflict zone the general said cross borders attacks in Pakistan showed that a third power wanted to mar relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

He said that peace had been restored in several areas and now the priority was to restore the trust of people.

Replying a query he said he could not said that foreign elements had been eliminated in the restive areas. He said that more than 170 security official were killed during the recent operation against terrorists . General Rizwan said 650 militants were also killed in clashes with the forces.
