Rawalpindi: Pakistan Army has said that it had recorded strong reservation over the removal of NATO check-posts from Kunar and Nuristan provinces of Afghanistan, bordering Pakistan.
Director General, Inter Services Public Relation, Major General Athar Abbas on Thursday said in a statement that Kunar and Nuristan provinces of the war ravaged Afghanistan were the strongholds of Pakistani Taliban. He informed that on June 01, at least 60 militants of Tehrik-e-Taliban Swat breached into Pakistan’s northern areas, and they ambushed levies and police check-posts.

The DG ISPR stated that Fazlullah, Faqeer Mohammed, Abdul Wali and Hakimullah have made their safe dens.
He said that there were 900 check-posts in these areas where some 147,000 personnel were stationed.
