Washington: Secretary of State Hilary Clinton has said that withheld Pakistan’s military aid does not mean that ties between both the countries have been cut off.
She on Monday said that ties with Pakistan always remained difficult but important. Pakistan has to do more to continue its military assistance, and Islamabad has been informed many times about these measures, she added.
Some parts of Pakistan’s military aid have been suspended, but cooperation would be continued, she said, added that civilian aid would not be suspended.
Clinton accepted that Pakistan rendered a lot of sacrifices and also bore heavy losses in war against terror. She said that cut off Pakistan’s military aid was not a big change in American policy.
Washington considered that stronger ties with Pakistan in the US national interest, Clinton stated.
