Karachi: The Sindh High Court on Monday disposed of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM)’s petition regarding the postponement of Azad Jammu Kashmir elections on Karachi constituencies.
The SHC disposed of the petition after the Sindh government assured the court of making arrangements to provide security during the polls whenever the AJK election commission would announce dates for elections.
The MQM moved a petition in the SHC against the postponement of polls by the government on pretext of worsening security situation in the metropolis. Later the issue led to separation of the MQM from the government both in Sindh and federation.
