Tel Aviv: Israeli security forces have once again restricted access to the al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem’s old city due to fears of an ensuing unrest. The Israeli police have declared that all men under the age 45 will be denied entry into the holy Mosque, Ma’an News Agency reported. Tel Aviv officials claimed they took the measure following reports of a planned protest at the site.
Al-Aqsa is one of the holiest sites in Islam and has been the scene of violent clashes between Palestinians worshipers and Israeli troops in the course of the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories.
