Nintendo has issued a health warning on its latest gadget, telling parents it could damage children’s eyes.
The games giant issued the alert ahead of the UK launch of the world’s first 3D gaming device that does not need glasses.
The Japanese firm warned that its revolutionary 3DS could stunt eye growth in children under six if they play it for too long, adding even older children and adults are advised to take a break every 30 minutes if they feel unwell.
According to a statement posted on the company’s website, too much exposure to the images could “negatively affect the growth of the eye” in youngsters.
The console is also fitted with a parental lock so children cannot play it without mum or dad’s consent.
The much anticipated device goes on sale in the UK on March 18 and will cost around ÂŁ200 with pre-orders already flying in, but Japanese fans get their hands on it first in February.
