Multan: Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) chairperson Farzana Raja said on Sunday that the government would provide health insurance facility to the poor as “New Year gift”.
Addressing a press conference, she said that 150,000 deserving people have been provided with cell phones so that they could benefit from the phone banking while GPS system had also been introduced to eliminate poverty in the country.
Farzana Raja said that the Smart Card experience had been successful in Multan while the grey areas pointed out in the system would soon be addressed, adding that the card would be used to disburse Rs300,000 to each poor.
She said that the government was paying heed to provide the poor with employment and basic health facilities.
She appealed people to support the government to make the projects focusing on public welfare successful.
